H.H. Holmes: America's First Serial Killer (2004)

John Borowski

This one goes straight to the TOP of my best serial killer docs list. Everything that you wanted to know about infamous "Doctor of Death" is here. This is a must watch!!! At the height of his criminal career, the infamous Dr. H.H. Holmes designed his castle of horrors in Chicago, where he rented rooms to unsuspecting victims visiting the 1893 World's Fair. Further benefiting from his victims, Holmes sold their skeletons to local medical schools. The first ever feature-length film depicting the entire life of Herman Mudgett, alias H.H. Holmes. Produced over a three-year period, the film focuses on Dr. Holmes' entire life of crime and villainy (1861-1896). This incredible true story is threaded with on-location footage from Holmes' past haunts, such as his childhood home in New Hampshire and the Philadelphia courtroom where his trial was held. A visual tour-de-force of reenactments, expert interviews, and period photography, H.H. Holmes: America's First Serial Killer promises to be an exciting rollercoaster ride of suspense and chills.
